Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON PATRICIA BOWLES It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sharon Bowles Monday, April 10, 2000 at the age of 38 years. Sharon was born on February 18, 1962. She was raised on the family farm near Souris and graduated from Souris School in 1980. She attended the University of Manitoba graduating with her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1984. For 14 years, she taught at Elton Collegiate in Forrest, Man. After completing her fifth year of Education at Brandon University, Sharon served as a guidance councillor and will be remembered as a strong advocate of the students. In addition to her school responsibilities, when was involved with the Brandon Career Symposium and also an advisory group at Brandon University for student teachers. Sharon was trained as a first responder and for a short time was a volunteer with the local ambulance service. She was involved with the St. Johns Ambulance and taught courses in First Aid. Sharon enjoyed participating in many sports throughout her life. She played basketball, volleyball, squash and slow pitch. She also enjoyed curling and swimming. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her two children Andrew and Michelle Janz and devoted partner Darrell Kempthorne. She is also survived by her parents Wayne and Evelyn Bowles of Souris; two sisters Diane (Marty) Sexton and children Jodi and Allison of Stonewall and Donna (Dan) McCauslan and daughter Madison of Morden. Grandparents Reita Bowles of Souris and Grant and Esther of Bond of Teulon. Sharon is also survived by Darrells children, Melissa, Kenny and Collin. She also leaves to mourn numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family is very grateful for the exceptional care that Sharon received during her illness from Dr. Cram and homecare workers. The family wishes to thank the staff at Souris Hospital for their care and kindness. Memorial donations may be made to the Souris School Playground Equipment Fund in care of Kowalchuks Funeral Home, Souris, Manitoba, R0K 2C0. Funeral services were held on April 13 at St. Pauls United Church, Souris. Pallbearers were Sharons cousins, Gordon Bowles, Kevin Bond, John Beever, and colleagues Gayle Kuhn, Ken Blair and Hank Flemming. Arrangements entrusted to Kowalchuks Funeral Home.
