She was also predeceased by two brothers, Roy of Vancouver and James of Kapuskasing, Ontario and Fayetteville, Georgia and by one sister Teodora in infancy. Florence was born and raised in Emerson, Manitoba. She worked for a time at Whitmans General Store in Emerson. Florence took joy in her role as mother and homemaker and will be remembered for her wonderful creativity in cooking, sewing and playing the piano, accompanying Syd on his fiddle, frequently entertaining family and friends. She was active in sports. In baseball she was known for her pitching ability. She won top honours at the first ladies tournament at Oakview Golf Course. When she entered a curling bonspiel she was known as a force to be reckoned with. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Florence energetically nursed Syd through 12 years of declining health. She loved flowers and throughout the summers her kitchen table was adorned with home-grown garden flowers.
