HIS GRACE ARCHBISHOP ANTOINE HACAULTA Continued In 1962, as personal theologian to the Archbishop of Saint Boniface, Most Rev. Maurice Baudoux, he participated in the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council. Pope John XXIII appointed him among the Periti (the experts) of the Council. He served on the Secretariat for Non-believers (1973-1983) and the Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity (1976-1989). Archbishop Antoine Hacault was on the Board of Directors of Saint Boniface General Hospital from 1975-2000 and on various Episcopal Commissions (French Sector): Liturgy (1987-1991), Social Communications (1991-1995) and was currently President of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy (French Sector). From 1988-1992, he was President of the Western Conference of Catholic Bishops (W-CC-O). He was also President of the Manitoba Catholic Conference. His Grace Archbishop Hacault has been the recipient of honorary degrees: from St. Johns College, Winnipeg, University of Manitoba and le College universitaire de Saint-Boniface . He was also recipient of the Catholic Foundation of Manitoba "Caritas Award" (1996). Prayers and visitation will be held on Monday, April 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m with the Official Prayer beginning at 7:00 p.m.; on Tuesday, April 18 in the Grand Salon at the Archbishops House from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; on Wednesday, April 19, at St. Boniface Cathedral from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Boniface Cathedral on Wednesday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. As Archbishop Hacault was always concerned with vocations to the priesthood and the formation of pastors, those who wish may make an offering in keeping with his spirit, during the time of prayer and visitation at the Cathedral or the Archbishops House.
