RYTSA HELENE TOBIAS At The Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal on Friday, April 14 in her eighty-first year. Beloved daughter of the late Claire Ripstein Tobias; the late Norman Cecil Tobias; dearest sister of David of Montreal, Theodore of Toronto and Patricia Tobias of Toronto; dearly loved aunt, great aunt, teacher and beloved sister-in-law of Pearl Tobias. A family interment to take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery in Winnipeg. Family and friends are welcome. Donations in Rytsas memory can be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation or Concordia University (SGW campus/English Department). Rytsas life was a classic example of lifelong learning and teaching. Among her varied interests was a great loyalty to Sir George Williams University in Montreal, of which she was a graduate (1951 B.A. and winner of the Birks Medal awarded for the highest ranking graduating student in Arts and Lieutenant-Grovernors Silver Medal awarded for the highest standing in the History major) and a long-standing Chairperson and Professor of English Literature.
