IDA W. DOWSE Ida Dowse, aged 91 years, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on Thursday, April 13, 2000. She was born on April 12, 1909 at the family farm in Saskatchewan. She married Richard Dowse and settled on a farm near Dugald. They retired in 1963 and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. In her lifetime she was a caregiver to many relatives, never thinking of herself. She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard in 1975; parents, William and Mary Muir; sister Edna at the age of 23; a sister in infancy and a much loved cousin Russell Richard as well as Fred, Albert and Francis Welburn, all first cousins, also uncles, David and Alfred Muir and Charles Welburn; aunties, Mary Dancer and Winnifred Welburn. She is survived by her first cousins, Shirley Richard, Mary Stewart, Ron and George Dancer and their families, Ernie and Janet Welburn and family, Ruth Weburn and family, Charlie Welburn and family, Doreen and Billy Abraham and family and Leslie and Holly Welburn and family; and extended family members, Jack and Shirley Muir, Anne Muir and family, Jack Steele and family, nephew Norman (Joan) Binkley and daughter Laura; a niece Helen Hammond and family, friends, Geraldine Wilkinson and family, her cat puckie baby, Dennis, Bev and Sandy Wiebe, and friend Brad Fotty, Kim (Jason) Squires and family, Rene and Linda Desmarais and family, Bill and Linda Hargie and family. She has many more friends and they are all to consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. A sincere thank you to Dr. Pacin and all of the hospital staff for the kindness they showed to Ida. Your kindness will never be forgotten. May God bless you all. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Pastor Will Crawford officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Frances Richard, Kevin Richard, Jerry Schmidt, Ken Cook, Bruce Crocker and Brad Fotty. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street. When Angel wings appeared in the sky, We knew your time had come to die.
