DORIS ELSIE MILES Peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital, Doris Miles passed away at the age of 88 years. Doris was born in Winnipeg on March 4, 1912, and lived the early part of her life in Morse Place and Elmwood. In 1967 she moved to Peterborough, ON, where she lived for 18 years. After her husband Gordon passed away in Florida in 1985, she lived several more years in Ontario before moving back to her beloved Winnipeg in 1986. Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Mervyn (Elizabeth) of Calgary and Brian of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Doris was always active in the community with various church groups, ceramics classes and square-dancing, while still finding time for her family and friends. She leaves us with many special memories. A special thank you to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
