Nellie was born in Winnipeg on August 3, 1924, and raised in Sperling, MB and St. Norbert. She was married in Winnipeg in August, 1946, to Frank Soko where they lived and raised their family together. Nellie enjoyed her time spent with her immediate family, especially her young grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her summers at Gull Lake and the many hours spent playing board games as well as cards with her adult children and friends. She was also an avid fan of baseball, especially her Blue Jays who she finally had the opportunity to see play in Toronto last year as a gift from her daughter Francine. She sat many hours creating special gifts of handmade crocheted afghans for friends and family which we all will cherish. A special thank you to the staff of GH4 at Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care given to her, especially Marilyn, Sandra (Sharon) and Mark, as well as staff at Concordia Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue.
