Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR WILLIAM GARBUTT Art passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at the age of 85. Survived by his wife Louise (Studham) son George (Margaret) Calgary; daughter Sharon McInnes (Dave) Winnipeg; grandchildren Geoff, Shannon, Colin and Ian; sister Ruth Cook(Carl) Anola, and special friend Rose Read. Born November 19, 1914 in Lakeville, New Brunswick, he came to Manitoba with his parents at an early age, grew up and went to school at Dugald, Man. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941, serving in Alaska, England, India and Burma with 115 and 436 Squadrons. He and Louise were married July 23, 1942 and Art spent all his working years with WECO and Manitoba Hydro retiring in 1978 with 32 years of service. Fraternally he was Past Master of Windsor Lodge #138, AF & AM, a member of Scottish Rite, 101 Unit of Khartum Temple, P.A.G. Jobs Daughters #6 Brandon. He had also been Scoutmaster of the 54th Troop and was a member of Regents Park United Church. He loved his family, his grandchildren and enjoyed many years of camping, especially Birds Hill Park. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Regents Park United Church, 613 St. Marys Rd. Special thanks to Dr. Bereznay for his care over the past few years. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so wish, a donation may be made to the A.L.S. Society of Manitoba (Lou Gehrig Disease), in care of Deer Lodge Centre 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3J 0L3 or a charity of ones choice.
