She made many new friends, and on March 25, 1931, married Edward Low of the Bayfield District. With Ed she faced the challenges of farm life as they began their family in the Dirty Thirties. Doris encouraged her family to strive for personal excellence and was herself recognized by various organizations, including CGIT and 4-H for her community and church volunteering efforts. Doris and Ed shared a lifelong love of curling and music. They travelled extensively, from coast-to-coast and Florida to Alaska. After retiring from the farm, Doris and Ed moved to Brandon for several years then to the Westhaven in Winnipeg where her interest in family and friends continued to the end. In honour of Doris, please help make this world a better place. Her favourite charities were the Canadian Cancer Society and Care Canada. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 18, at Westminster United Church in Foxwarren, with interment in the Low family plot at Foxwarren Cemetery.
