EUGENE DEMKIW It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father, Eugene Demkiw, on April 20, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital. Left to mourn and cherish his memory, is his beloved wife Marlene; son Shannon (Sandra) son Jason; loving mom Victoria; sister Rose (Russ) Fay; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Nicholas. At the time of his death, Eugene was employed as Director of Finance at CD plus.com. He had enjoyed many years of scouting in Transcona, initiating the first overnight Beaver Camp. He was also involved with the Guide Scout Water Safety program. During his scouting, he enjoyed hosting the American Scouts. Prayers will be offered by Deacon Walter Knysh on Monday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. A memorial service will follow on Tuesday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel with Deacon Fraser Hunter officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba or the Cancer Society. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
