Julia completed high school, attended the University of Manitoba and worked for many years as a teacher, dental nurse and volunteer. She will be remembered for her cheerfulness despite adversity, her love of people, animals, flowers and outdoor adventure at the familys Brereton Lake cottage in the Whiteshell Provincial Park and her devotion to continuing education. Special thanks to all the friends who visited her and the doctors, nurses and aides at the Concordia Hospital, the Riverview Health Centre (3rd floor E), and her homecare givers for the tender loving care Julia received. A celebration of Julias life will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the main lounge of Park Manor, 301 Redonda St., with Reverend Edna Perry officiating. According to Julias wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial perennial garden will be planted in her honour at Park Manor where she spent many hours volunteering.
