Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELVIN CHARLES SPIGELMAN Mels family announces with sadness his peaceful passing on April 10, 2000, a man of kind and gentle nature, whose love of life and family will never be forgotten. Mel was born on September 20, 1929, in Winnipeg. He spent his life devoted to work and family, with family always coming first. Mel operated many businesses in his lifetime, from Mayfair Donuts to Winnipeg Beef, S & S Carpet Cleaning, and in later years, driving taxi at both Duffys Taxi and Spring Taxi. All those who knew Mel knew that his greatest joy was his family. He leaves to mourn his beautiful wife of 47 years, Sheila; his children, Nikki, Howard, Avery, Nata, Robert and Beth; his grandchildren, who were his jewels, Adam, Jamie, Arielle, David and Deborah; his brother Norman and all his sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Spigelman, Rita and Mickey Klapman, Louise Gladstone (Denver, Colo.), Bill Wynne (Sacremento, Calif.). He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Mel was not just Uncle Mel or Zaida Mel to his family, but also to many people who lovingly referred to him in those terms. Everyone who knew him will miss him. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Meyrowitz and the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, Palliative Care 5th Floor Unit 3, for their care and compassion. Funeral services were held on April 12, 2000, at Rosh Pina Synagogue, officiated by Rabbi Neil Rose and Longer obitbulkloaduary to follow at a later date.
