PAUL JANO DONALD WARWARUK Paul Jano Donald Warwaruk passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Minnedosa District Hospital, Minnedosa, Man. Paul was predeceased by his son Mario; parents Peter and Katherine and in-laws, Mike and Mary Nowodile. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marion; sons, Jano and Joseph and daughters, Pauline and Julietta; his brothers, Roman (Marguerite), Julian (Jean), Lawrence; sister Linda Rybuck (Peter) and sister-in-law Steffie Prydun (Milton) many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Paul Warwaruk was born February 10, 1935, at Mrs. Val Biczos Nursing Home, Erikson, Man., to Peter and Katherine Warwaruk. He lived out his childhood on their homestead about four miles south of Erickson. Paul attended Westmount and Erickson High School, graduating in 1951. The family were members of the St. Judes Roman Catholic Church in Erickson where Paul was an Alter Boy. He participated in digging the basement for the new St. Judes Church. Paul remained on the farm where he learned valuable farming skills, such as being able to fix his own machinery. In 1961, Paul bought a farm west of Newdale, Man., where he put a lot of work into ditching and clearing the land. Paul continued to live and farm at home and at Newdale. He met Marion Nowodile of Winnipeg in 1968. They married on July 11, 1970, at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg. Paul and Marion started their married life together on the homestead until they bought a farm one mile south of Erickson and it became their home. Over time, they expanded their farm, which eventually grew to the size of twelve hundred acres and he loved every minute he spent farming it. Pauls garden was a perfect example of how he liked things kept, neat and tidy. Paul found the winters long. He looked forward to getting out in the field, planting his crops and watching them grow. Even though Paul would have many late nights farming, he still found time to spend with his children. Paul had a lot of pride in his family which was his most prized possession. He took his family fishing to Moon Lake and also on family trips to the States and out West. In the early 1990s, Paul and his family became members of the St. Alphonsus Church in Minnedosa. Paul was a hard worker which led him to various businesses, which included clearing land with his bulldozer, cutting logs in the park and a retail lumber yard, P & M Lumber. Paul enjoyed the customer interaction part of running the business. The lumber yard brought on a love for carpentry. He had many projects which included designing and building their home. Due to a series of brain tumors which started in 1984, the lumber yard came to an end and farming became the priority. Over the past 16 years Paul continued his love for farming, but was slowed down by his health. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Pallbearers were Pauls nephews, Lawrence, Christopher, Eugene and Murray Warwaruk and Derek and Vernon Rybuk. Cross bearer was niece Carmela Warwaruk. Readers were nieces, Bernadette and Juliana Warwaruk. Prayers were held on April 16 and mass on April 17, at Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Minnedosa. Interment was at St. Judes Cemetery, Erickson, along side his son Mario. Officiating the services were Fr. Sean Cahill, Amaranth and Decon Conrad Plante, Erickson. Donations to the St. Alphonsus Church landscaping fund, Box 241, Minnedosa, Man., R0J 1E0, or a charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family. Sparrow Funeral Service, Minnedosa, in care of arrangements.
