DOROTHY "DOLLY" (SEED) MARTIN JULY 23, 1922 - APRIL 20, 2000 After a long battle with lung cancer, Dolly passed away at Grace General Hospital on Thursday, April 20, 2000. Born and raised in St. James her entire life, she still lived in the house at 458 Ferry Road, which she and her husband Bert built in 1949. Dollys husband was an electrician and he worked at various places in the United States. They established homes wherever the work took them. In 1964, Bert retired and they returned to Canada and their home in St. James. She had a feisty, independent and stubborn view of life, but a heart of gold. Her family was the most important thing to her. The family send their heartfelt gratitude to "The Angels" on 4 West at the Grace Hospital who cared for her with love and compassion. Also, her dear friend, Dr. Russell Albak and staff, and the staff of St. James Pharmacy at the Assiniboine Clinic. Thanks to Lt. Col. Patricia Ryan, Major Kath McFarlane and Major Christine Aitkenhead of the Salvation Army for their prayers and visits. Dolly was predeceased by her mother and dad, John and Elizabeth, her beloved husband Bert and her precious pet "Tippy". She will be sadly missed by her sister, Carol Cherniuk, nephew and godson, Terry (Brenda) and great nephew Evan Cherniuk. Her sister-in-law Dorothy Seed, niece Brenda and nephew, Richard (Kathy) Seed, and great niece, Sarah, great nephew, Ronald, and niece Sheri Lynn (Dave) Wheeler of Sault Ste. Marie. Also relatives in England and Australia. Private cremation and interment has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. "Rest Peacefully, Doll", Love Your Family. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREAMTORIUM 885-9715
