HERBERT J. SNOWBALL 1916 - 2000 Peacefully in the early hours of April 22 at the Victoria General Hospital, Herbert Snowball returned to his Creator after a short battle with kidney failure. He will be greatly missed by his two sons, Howard and Melvyn; daughter-in-law Ellie (whom he regarded as his daughter) his sister Mary Crowe, in Duns Scotland and three grandchildren, Claire, Brett and Oliver. He was predeceased by his wife Bertha in 1969. Bert was born in Oakville, ON and moved to Scotland where he had a long and distinguished military career with Kings Own Scottish Borderers. After returning to the land of his birth in 1964, he was employed by Systems Equipment Limited until his retirement. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and positive attitude. Viewing is on Tuesday evening, April 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26 at the Worldwide Church of God, 50 Barnes St. with Pastor Allan Redmond officiating. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brett Snowball, George Black, Arnold Solleveld, Bill Crakewich, Peter Hajkowski and Narciso San Diego. A special thanks to all the medical staff at the emergency Seven Oaks General Hospital, MCIU unit General Hospital and Victoria General Hospital, for their care and kindness.
