BERTHA GLAZERMAN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha Glazerman, on April 20, 2000, at the St. Boniface Hospital. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Barry Caplan; daughter Marcia Glazerman; grandchildren, Susan and Errol Billinkoff, Bruce Caplan and Sheri Winters, David Caplan, Daniel Glazerman, Alyn Glazerman and Alexandra Glazerman; great-grandsons, Jordan Billinkoff and Asher Billinkoff; sisters, Idy Hollenberg and Diane (Mac) Wasserman; brother Sonny Comisaroff and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Allan; parents Alice and David Comisaroff; sisters, Toots Mesbur, Ryna Seidner, Katie Comisaroff; and brothers, Louis and Bill Comisaroff. She was also predeceased by her dear son Fred on April 4, 2000. Bertha was born in Winnipeg on November 18, 1909. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with her close family and friends. We will remember her on that happy day as she made a speech and thanked us all for coming to celebrate with her. Bertha and her husband Allan were well respected in the retail clothing business as the owners of Fredrics Clothes, Ltd. on Portage Avenue. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Izzy Peltz for his friendship and support over the years. His compassion and wise counsel were always a comfort to Bertha. Funeral services were held at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, graveside, on Monday, April 24. The pallbearers were her grandsons, Bruce Caplan, David Caplan, Daniel Glazerman, Alyn Glazerman, Errol Billinkoff and granddaughters, Susan Billinkoff and Sheri Winters. Honorary pallbearers were Izzy Peltz and Dianne Winters. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of their choice.
