JAMES (JIM) DUNCAN RONEY Peacefully after a lengthy illness James (Jim) Duncan Roney passed away at the Grace General Hospital on April 20, 2000, at the age of 80 years. Jim is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of 55 years; son Lloyd and daughter-in-law Barbara; two grandsons, Brendan and Ian and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his infant son Robert Franklin in 1948. Jim was born in Southey, Sask., on February 6, 1920. At an early age Jim moved to The Pas, Man., with his parents. At the age of 17 years, Jim joined the Toronto Dominion Bank. In 1942 he enlisted into the Armed Forces, returning to the Toronto Dominion Bank after the war. During Jims years of work with the bank, the family lived in Brandon, Grenfell, Regina, Prince Albert and Winnipeg. Jim retired form the bank in 1978, after 41 years of service. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The family will greet friends at a reception immediately following the service. Should friends desire, donations may be made in Jims memory to the Grace General Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, Man., R3J 3M7.
