JEAN GUZDA It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jean Guzda (nee Kalupar), aged 61 years of Winnipeg at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, Man., on April 23, 2000. Jean will be greatly missed by David, her loving husband of 40 years. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Mary Sobiak (Bob), Anne Swidnicki (Mike), Irene Ross (Cliff), Shirley Schultz (Art) and Vivian Sedlbauer (Paul) her brothers, Nick, Stan (Shirley), Alex, Rudy (Joan) and Edward (Denise) brothers-in-law, Alex (Mary) and Joe Guzda; sisters-in-law, Carol Wright, Linda, Irene, Pat and Donna Kalupar and Shiela Daly; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Katie Kalupar and by her brothers, Mike, Joe, Bill, Steve, Peter and Mac. Jeans greatest enjoyments were bowling and gardening, in particular flowers, both at home in Winnipeg and her country residence in Meleb. Jean also enjoyed entertaining family, friends and neighbours whenever they dropped in for a visit. She had a very special love for her nieces and nephews. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m., also in the chapel with Very Rev. John Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery, Meleb. Her pallbearers will be Brian and Ken Guzda, Dale, Ron and Allan Kalupar and Bob Sobiak. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations in Jeans memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Wpg., R2B 2H8. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
