JOSEPH CHUDY (CARMAN HOMESTEADER) On Friday, April 21, 2000, at age 85 years, Joseph passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, husband of Sonia Rosdeba who predeceased him in 1982. Joseph was born in Fisher Branch, Man. His family attempted to farm in the interlake region but found the ground barren and harsh. Moving to Winnipeg with his father, six brothers and two sisters, Joseph married and had six children, Robert (Vancouver), Dr. Mary Ann Levy (Denver), Nancy McGhee (predeceased), Valerie (Vancouver), William (Vancouver) and Louise. He worked for the CNR as a Car Man until his retirement and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by three brothers, Andrew, Walter and Arnold; step-sister Eleanor; his children; ten grandchildren (one predeceased) and six great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 25 between 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephs memory to a charity of ones choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
