MARY CROY (GOOD) (nee ROWLAND) Peacefully, on Sunday, April 23, 2000, Mary Croy, age 92, passed away at the Charleswood Care Centre with her family at her side. She leaves to mourn her husband George M. Croy of Stonewall; her daughter Muriel (Wilson) Barton of Thunder Bay, Ont.; grandson Clinton (Doris) Barton and their three children, Carling, Sarah and Colin of Fort Francis, Ont.; her son Hubert (Jean) Good of Stonewall; Jeans two sons, Randy and Tim Cameron, good friend Rhonda of Stonewall; also, Georges immediate family, Jean and Ron House of Lethbridge, Alberta, Keith and Helen Croy of Stonewall, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her first husband Melville R. Good in 1964; her six sisters, Katie Gardener, Dolly Stokes, Edith Slater, Mabel Townsend, Ada Dronsfield, Rosie Armstrong, all of their husbands except Art Townsend. Mary was born on October 25, 1907 in the Pleasant Home district northeast of Teulon and spent her childhood years there. She married Melville in 1932 and was a caring mother and housewife on the family farm north of Stonewall. She loved her garden, was an excellent cook and enjoyed her sewing. One of her many accomplishments was winning the "Silver Tray" at the Rockwood Agriculture Fair in the Homemaking Class. She enjoyed her membership in the Rebecca Lodge and was a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension. Following her marriage to George in 1980, she moved to Stonewall on Oak Park Drive, then to Stonewood Place. Due to her failing health she went to the Care Centre in March of this year. George and Mary had a wonderful 20 years, travelling from Thunder Bay to Lethbridge, to Victoria, visiting friends and relatives. They welcomed company and enjoyed their cards games. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, Stonewall. Rev. J. Miles will officiate. Interment in the Stonewall Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, but should friends desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Church of the Ascension, Building Fund or a charity of ones choice.
