PATRICIA ELEANOR DARCY EADIE (nee BRUCE-KERR) Passed away on Friday, April 21, 2000 in the Penticton Regional Hospital. Pat was born on March 19, 1922 in Dagshai, India where her father was a Chaplain in the British Indian Army. She trained as an S.R.N. at St. Bartholemews (Barts) Hospital in London, England, and at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, Cumberland, England, where she met her future husband John A. Eadie. They married following the war. After living three years in Edinburgh, Scotland, where their oldest son, Jack was born they moved to Canada. They spent five years in Portage La Prairie, Man., where Sheelagh and Donald were born. They then relocated to Winnipeg, where Alison and Ken were born. After Ken began school, Pat took up her nursing career again. She worked as a Clinical Instructress at the Rehabilitation Hospital and as Head Nurse on weekends at Concordia Hospital, as Nurse-in-charge of the Infirmary of the Kiwanis Centre for the Deaf and as School Nurse at Kildonan East Secondary School. John and Pat moved to Trout Creek (Summerland), B.C. in 1989. Pat was an accomplished landscape artist. She fitted her painting in to her primary interest - her children and grandchildren, for whom her IRISH EYES were always smiling. She lost a courageous struggle against severe osteoporosis, complicated by innumerable allergies. Pat was strongly supported by her loving family and an outstanding network of friends, community and health care workers including Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Home Care workers. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: husband, John of Summerland; two daughters, Sheelagh (Richard) Smith of Winnipeg and Alison Eadie (Dennis Stolen) of Penticton, B.C.; three sons, Jack (Carmen) of Okanagan Falls, B.C., Don (Sharon) of Morris, Man. and Ken (Gayle) of Winnipeg; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Sheena-Rae, Kristina, Shawn, Katie, Jessica, Andy, Erika, Thomas and Samantha. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at the I.O.O.F. Hall, Main Street and Kelly Avenue, Summerland, B.C. officiated by Ms. Sandra Perry, followed by a Reception. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of HANSONS ARBOR VALLEY FUNERAL CENTRE, 250-492-4202.
