RICHARD "DICK" REID Dick passed away peacefully at Oakview Place Personal Care Home on Friday, April 21, 2000 at the age of 96 years. He is predeceased by his wife Doris in 1993 and great-grandson Raymond. He is survived by his sons, Ralph (Jean) in Surrey, B.C., Delmar (Irene) and Pat (Lois) grandchildren, Larry (Shirley) of Abbotsford, B.C., Janice of Surrey, Colleen (Keith) Boyd, Jeff of Edmonton, Alta., Kelly (John) Schwartz; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aimie Reid of Abbotsford, Brendan and Corrina Boyd, Robyn and Daniel Schwartz. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Gladys Beaman of Winnipeg and Margaret Reid of Northern Ireland and many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and Northern Ireland. Dick was employed by the City of Winnipeg as a Policeman, Health Inspector and Licence Inspector retiring in 1967. He then was employed by the provincial government in the Sheriffs Department retiring from there in 1977. He was a member of the Masonic Windsor Lodge #138, the York Rite, Khartum Temple Shriners and the Khartum Patrol. Dad loved having family and friends around him and enjoyed many years at his cottage in Ponemah Beach. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Padre Stan Millar officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will take place in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. The family wishes to thank Home Care worker Monica and the staff at Oakview Place Personal Care Home for their loving help. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Sick Children, 529 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, Man., R3M 0A5 or a charity of your choice.
