JOSEPHINE (LASKOWSKY) PARASCHUK On Good Friday, April 21, 2000 Josephine Paraschuk peacefully passed away at the Sandy Lake Nursing home. She left this world to join her husband Thomas, her parents Ben and Anna Laskowsky, her sisters Katie Siwak, Lillian Duchminsky and Elise Pavlik. She will be missed by her children Phyllis and Wally Psooy, Peter and Olga Prosken, Metro and Jean Paraschuk; her grandchildren Harold (Joyce) Prosken, Gary Posmituck, Douglas Paraschuk (Mary-Ann), Julie (Ed) Alexiuk, Gail (Lloyd) Leknes, Debbie (Keith) Lemkey, Brenda (Robert) Douglas; her great grandchildren Jeff and Mary-Joy Prosken, Elyse and Leiya Lemkey, Nicholas and Lucas Alexiuk, Thomas and Hope Posmituck and her only surviving brother John Laskowsky. Josephine (Jessie) Laskowsky began her life on November 6, 1904 in Angusville, Manitoba and married Thomas Paraschuk in 1925. Her family and friends were the focus of most of her activities. She was very active in her church, enjoyed cooking and travelling, playing cards and fishing. Her life will be celebrated on Friday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. with Divine Liturgy at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sparrow Funeral Chapel, Father Michael Tkachuk will be conducting the services. Interment will be at the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Minnedosa. Her grandchildren will be her pallbearers. Crossbearer will be her great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for mass or to the Holy Ascension Ukrainian Catholic Church Memorial Fund in memory of Jessie Paraschuk. Sparrows Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
