MARY ELEANOR STIVER (nee McLENNAN) Eleanor went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 24, 2000, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by husband Harold; sons, Grant (Arleen), John (Joanne) daughter Mary (Rick) granddaughters, Johanna and Lauren; grandsons, John Murray, Dan (Lisa), Grahame (Aubben), John Christian and Benjamin James; great grandson Benjamin Wesley. Born on the family farm at Russell, Manitoba on October 14, 1912, Eleanor was a long-time resident of St. Vital. Mom was devoted to her family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved unconditionally and delighted in the uniqueness of each one of them. Eleanor touched many lives with her compassion and gentleness, especially the mentally handicapped. Her wonderful creativity was expressed through her music, her painting, and her writing. Eleanor was gifted with a keen sense of humor and a ready laugh. She marvelled at the wonder of Gods creation of the land, the simple blueberry, and the beauty of Moose Lake. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. in Regents Park United Church, 613 St. Marys Road, St. Vital. Our appreciation and thanks go to the compassionate and loving staff who gently cared for her on CD4, Riverview Health Centre.
