DOUGLAS KEITH DREWETT It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas Keith Drewett on Monday, April 24, 2000 at St. Boniface General Hospital. He was predeceased by his brother Stuart Allan Drewett on February 5, 2000. Doug is survived by his wife Donna and his daughters Carolyn and Linda of Toronto. He is also survived by his sisters, Norma Drewett and Marion Bradley and brother Gordon (Alice), sister-in-law Patricia Drewett, nephew Roy Drewett; nieces Patty McDonald (Dave) and Sandra Bradley of Calgary, Alta. Doug was born and raised in Portage la Prairie and after graduating from the University of Manitoba, he joined Lever Brothers in the Food Division. Early in his career he held various managerial positions in both Moncton and Toronto. He then transferred to Winnipeg as a Regional Manager of Western Canada until his retirement. His special interests were reading, history, economics, politics, golfing and a great love of animals. He had a fondness for the prairies, in particul the Delta Region and his birthplace Portage la Prairie. Doug will be remembered for his cheerful disposition, gentle sense of humour and his sensible and compassionate nature. Doug was a loving and devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. If friends so desire donations maybe made to The Winnipeg Humane Society at 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, Man., R2L 1X3 or The Heart and Stroke Foundation at 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
