JOSEPH MICHAEL HAMULKA With deep sadness the family announce the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Joseph Michael Hamulka, age 84 years on Sunday, April 23, 2000 at the Concordia General Hospital. Joseph was born in Winnipeg December 22, 1915. He served in the Second World War with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry overseas in England, France, Italy, Sicily, Holland and Belgium. After the war Joe fell in love and married Mildred Ogelski. They raised their family of two children, sons Jack and Gerald. He was employed by Canada Post until his retirement, although his true love was carpentry and his creations out of wood ranged from cabins to rec rooms to toy boxes for his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mildred, July 20, 1999; his son Gerald December 27, 1994; sisters, Kay, Pearl and brother William. His memory will always be lovingly cherished by his son Jack (Rosemary) his granddaughters, Jessica and Veronica; his sisters, Mary Wright, Jean Wright of Montreal; sister Nell Keep of Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family wish to express their most sincere thanks to the staff at the Concordia General Hospital for all their care, kindness and compassion shown to Joe and his family. Extra special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Dyer, Mrs. Kaplik and Peter, Paul and Anika Beknatsk and George Popescul for always being there for Joe since our Mom died. In lieu of flowers, at Joes request, because of his experience during the war as to how the Salvation Army treated soldiers, donations are to be made to the Salvation Army, 400 Colony Street, Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2P4. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday morning, April 27 (today) between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service (today) at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue with Rev. Fr. Michael Koryluk officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Peter and Paul Beknatsk, Jack Dyer, Winston Taylor, Garry Giesbrecht and George Popescul. Rest in peace, Dad, we will always love you. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
