MURIEL GERTRUDE COX It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our mother, Muriel Gertrude Cox, at her home in Miami, MB at 74 years of age. Muriel leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 51 years, Ronald; children and grandchildren; daughter Donna (Fern), Marc, Paul (Tabitha) and Philippe Gervais; son Harold (Nola), Dallas (Jodi), Kevin (Crystal), Tyler and Trevor Cox; daughter Diane (Blaine), Janice (Martin), Warren and Lyall Pedersen; great-granddaughter Darian; one brother Jim (Hilda) Cliffe; and one sister Thelma Cole. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Muriel was born on April 18, 1926. She was born in the Boissevain area. She moved to Miami as a teacher, where she met Ron whom she married on July 10, 1948. Along with raising her family on the farm in the Opawaka District, Muriel was always actively involved in church and community groups. In later years she was a devoted care giver to her husband. Her special interests included quilting and various craft activities. Funeral service will be held from the Miami United Church in Miami on Friday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Gilbert officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot in the Miami Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or to the Miami United Church Memorial Fund, Miami, MB R0G 1H0.
