EILEEN LUPIER Peacefully on April 15, 2000, Eileen passed away at the Neepawa District Memorial Hospital, with her husband Wilson and other family members at her bedside. Eileen was born at Angusville, Manitoba to Thomas and Marjory Howe. Eileens first teaching position was at Canal School in the McCreary district, where she met Wilson Lupier while boarding with the Lupier family. She also taught at Grassy River, Lone Star and Morris Schools. In 1942, she left Manitoba to live in Surrey, B.C. to be near her retired mother. She taught school in B.C. until 1948, then returning to Manitoba to marry Wilson and become a farmers wife. She returned to teaching in 1953 at Roskeen, then Riding Mountain, Kelwood Elementary and high schools. From 1962 to 1967 she was the secretary treasurer for the Turtle River School Division. The Lupiers moved to their 4th Avenue home in Neepawa in 1976. Eileen belonged to the Neepawa United Church U.C.W. Unit 2 and was an active church member. Eileen was predeceased by her father and mother and her niece, Karen Jean Hagerman. Surviving are Wilson, her beloved husband of 51 years; her brothers Lewis Howe and wife Lorna of Orillia, Ontario, and their sons Tom and Rick and families; the extended Lupier family; cousins and friends. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Whites Funeral Chapel, Neepawa, with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa. Pallbearers were Warren Gillies, Ed Lupier, Cameron Stoesz, Murray Davie, Brian Hearn, Neil Gillies.
