JESSIE WYNNYK With deep sorrow we announce that Jessie passed away peacefully at the Maples Personal Care Home on the morning of April 26, 2000 at the age of 93. Jessie was born in Dolha, Western Ukraine on November 21, 1906. In the early 1920s she left the Old Country and travelled by boat to Canada in order to start a new life. Soon to follow was her future husband, Bill, whom she married soon after. Together they learned a new language and a new way of life. They started a grocery store business in Fort Rouge and later in the North End, where, for many years, they worked long and tiring hours. Although Jessie took pride in her grocery business and butchering skills, her greatest pride was in her ability to unite her family around her traditional Ukrainian cooking. Jessie brought joy and comfort into the lives of her friends and family and for that she will be deeply missed. She will be thought of, by all those she touched with her love and kindness as a strong, hardworking, loyal and loving person. Memories of her will be cherished and passed on. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Bill (1982) her mother Helen (1961) her father Phillip (1974) and her brothers, Mike (1972) and Joseph (1989). She will be missed by her daughter Helen Coslik (Joseph) her son Russell Wynnyk (Joan) her brother Bill Cholosky (Olive) her granddaughter June Galaugher (Brent) her grandsons, Brent Wynnyk (Patty) and Blair Wynnyk (Tracy) her great-grandchildren, Jolen, Tara and Bryan Galaugher, Jenna, Jessica and Spencer Wynnyk; relatives and friends. Our sincere thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their kindness. Jessie always said "Dont worry about me. My girls take good care of me." Thanks also to Dr. Terry Babick who always cheered her up while providing her with excellent care for many long years. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. at The Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with Father Ernie Hafichuk officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blair Wynnyk, Brent Galaugher, her cousins, Joe, Mike and Eddy Cholosky and Sam Decter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Cholosky, Joe Coslik and Brent Wynnyk. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. "Already we miss you so very, very much, Especially those frequent visits when we always kept in touch. These cherished memories will live in our heart forever, All those wonderful times when we were so happy together." BYEMOM - WE LOVE YOU.
