Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN JACOB WALDNER Surrounded by his family at the Grace Hospital, John Jacob Waldner, beloved husband of Joyce, went peacefully into the presence of his Heavenly Father at 7:05 p.m., on April 27, 2000, at the age of 76. Dad was born August 9, 1923, at Bernard, MB and married Joyce, the love of his life, June 10, 1950. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Joyce; his father-in-law Peter Paulson; his sons, Jonathan and Gregory; daughters-in-law, Vi and Helen; and grandchildren, Brenda, Michelle, Michael, Steven, Dakota and Kacey. Dad also leaves four sisters, Clara, Sara, Edna and Emma; and one brother Sam; sisters-in-law, Betty and Joan; brothers-in-law, Jim and Howard; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dad joins loved ones that he cherished: his mother and his father, his mother-in-law, his sisters, his brothers and his friends. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. Romans 1:16 Dad spent his first 15 years at Bernard and Poplar Point Colonies, then later served his country overseas from 1942-1945 as a medic for the Canadian Armed Forces. After returning from the war, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour in 1949, then he married his chosen life partner in 1950. In his earlier years his pastimes were hunting and fishing and he also enjoyed hockey. Most of all he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. During his retirement his strength in the Lord grew through visitation, reading the Word of God and being a prayer warrior for family and all those around him. Dad loved to travel to visit his sons and grandchildren. He still loved his hockey. Many thanks to the doctors, the nurses and all the staff involved in making Dads final days comfortable at the Grace Hospital. The Christian burial will be celebrated at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Ave., on Monday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Buss officiating. Interment to follow at Balsam Bay, MB, with Pastor Ron Hampton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Teen Challenge Canada or Immanuel Pentecostal Church. Anderson Family Funeral Home of Ashern, Manitoba in care of arrangements, 204-768-3606.
