Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE (NELL) HRYTSAK On April 26, 2000, Nell Hrytsak of Winnipeg, aged 75 years, passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Nell, daughter of the late Samuel and Maria Nykoliation, was born in Seech, Man. She was raised and educated in the Seech, Menzie and Oakburn areas of Manitoba. Upon completing Teacher Training at United College in Winnipeg in 1944, Nell took charge of Flower School, where she taught for one year. In 1945 she married Peter Hrytsak, and they farmed together in Oakburn until 1969. She was an expert baker and gardener and won numerous awards for her efforts in both of these areas. While living in Oakburn, Nell was a member of the Holy Eucherist Ukrainian Catholic Church, and of the Catholic Womens League where she served a term as secretary. In 1969, Nell and her family moved to Winnipeg where she became a member of Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, and also a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League. Until her retirement, Nell was employed at the University of Manitoba, Pembina Hall. She enjoyed her family, friends, traveling and the beauty of nature, especially flowers. A devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother, Nell will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and constant concern for others. Throughout her illness, her strong faith, courage and love for her family enabled her to maintain an optimistic attitude. To cherish her memory, Nell leaves her daughter Audrey Partaker; son-in-law Dale and grandsons, Kevin and Trevor; son Allan Hrytsak; daughter-in-law Louise and granddaughters, Lisa and Jennifer and son Melvin Hersak; daughter-in-law Veronica and grandchildren, Todd and Tiffany; her sister Sonya Koltuski and many nieces and nephews. Nell was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents, Samuel and Maria Nykoliation; her brother Anthony and sister Gaynia. Prayers (Panahkyda) will be said on Sunday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue at Harrow. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m., also at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Wach officiating. Interment will follow at Garry Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kevin Partaker, Todd Hersak, Levin Koltusky, Ernie Koltusky, Arnold Hersak, and Denis Kozakevich. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Partaker, Lisa Hrytsak, Jennifer Hrytsak, Tiffany Hersak and Darcy Strutinsky. Our family wishes to express gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Victoria Hospital Oncology and Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care, 3-East.
