Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR REGINALD KIRBY 1913 - 2000 Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2000 at the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 86 years. Art was born on the family farm near Fertile, SK on November 5, 1913, the third child born to Samuel and Georgina Kirby. He took his schooling at the Fertile School and took over the family farm from his parents when they retired to Carnduff, SK in 1950. A lifelong farmer, Art enjoyed curling, golfing and visiting with his friends and neighbours in the Fertile District. Always a quiet man, Art will be remembered for his polite manner and the pride he took in caring for his land and equipment. Art was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1981 Art retired from farming and moved into Melita, MB with his brother Robert (Bob). In 1994 Art sold his home in Melita and moved into the Seniors Lodge in Melita. Due to his declining health, Art moved into the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home in Winnipeg in the fall of 1995. Art was predeceased by his parents, Samuel (1968) and Georgina (1963) his brother Bob (1992) and his sister Marion Adair (1996). Art leaves to mourn his brothers, Gordon (Lorraine) of Surrey, BC, Walter (Dot) of Winnipeg; his brother-in-law Jim Adair of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the staff of the Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home for the compassionate care they provided for Art over the past five years. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Carnduff Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2.
