JULIE SIMPKIN (nee McLEOD) Peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2000, Julie Simpkin passed away at the St.Boniface Hospital at the age of 67 years. Julie was born July 21, 1932 in Minnewaken, MB. (Lundar). She was predeceased by James (Jim), her husband of 45 years, her parents Alex and Mary McLeod and brother Gordon. Julie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bill, Walt (Lucille), Carol (Bryan) Weber, May (Chubb) Chabot, Harry (Rhonda) grandchildren, Bill, Jai, Nicole, Joel, Rachel, Harry and Natalie; sisters, Jenny, Liz (Mel) and Laura (Dave) brother Stan and Aunt Sara; many nieces nephews and her many bingo friends. Mom retired from Sears Polo Park in 1999 after working in retail for many years at Penningtons, Tan Jay and Eatons and, for a time at Harmons Drug Store. Mom enjoyed shopping, but bingo was by far her greatest enjoyment and passion. Mom had a generous heart for all she knew, often doing without herself while helping friends and family. Her trademark became a little guardian angel on my shoulder pin. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Avenue, St. James. Flowers are gratefully declined.
