Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE SHWAYKOSKY With deep sorrow the family announce the passing of their beloved Mother and Baba, Elsie Shwaykosky, age 83 years on April 29, 2000 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, son August, brothers Bill and Mike Tycholaz and sister Jean Shwaykosky. Elsie is survived by her son Dennis, daughter Leona (Lawrence) Overby, grandsons Larry and Kris, daughter-in-law Dorothy, sisters Mary Lazaruk of Yorkton, SK, Stella Podollan of Vernon, B.C. and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Arran, SK, married Bill in 1934. Together they ran several businesses in Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg in 1946. Here, she had numerous jobs and finally with Bill ran Walter Meats. Elsie was a founding member of St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she spent many hours of hard work. She was a very hard working and courageous lady. Her door was open for any family or friends who needed help or a place to stay. She always put everyones needs before her own. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be; Larry Overby, Kris Overby, Lloyd Herchen, Mike Tycholas, Alec Strukoff and Eugene Krawchuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsies memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
