JOSEPH GWIZON After a brief illness Joe Gwizon age 85 years passed away at the Grace Hospital. Joe was born December 23, 1914 in Winnipeg. He served overseas during the Second World War with the Canadian Armed Forces First Division, assigned to Headquarters, throughout Europe. He was employed with the C.P.R. and C.N.R. for 35 years, retiring in 1979. He was a life long member of the #141 Legion for 48 years. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching as well as participating in many sports. He was extremely proud of his bowling game. Joe was predeceased by his wife Stella in 1977. He is survived by three sons, Clifford Navis (Vera), Alan Gwizon (Bonnie) and Brian Gwizon (Norma) seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister Steffie Koniuck; numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. David Willems of the Health Action Centre for all his assistance and support he gave to our father, and to the staff and friends at Lions Manor.
