LOUELLA DOURAS ROBERTSON (nee COLBERT) With courage and dignity, Louella Robertson passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank; sister Gyda Hocking; brother Edgar Colbert and by her son-in-law Douglas Speirs. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Joan Speirs; granddaughters Leslie Speirs (Don Slough), Barbara Thiessen (Jim) and Lorraine Penman (Scott) great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Kristy Slough, Lauren and Brett Thiessen and Jill, Holly and Steven Penman; and by her sister Della Clydesdale. Louella was born in Winnipeg and except for a brief time in Calgary, resided here her entire life. She was a past worthy matron of the Jubilee Chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the Nile, a volunteer at the Calgary General Hospital and the Good Neighbours Club of Winnipeg. She was a lifelong member of St. Aidans Anglican Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Aidans Anglican Church, corner of Campbell Street and Kingsway Avenue with the Rev. Dr. Murray Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Messrs. Don, Matthew and Andrew Slough, Jim and Brett Thiessen and Scott Penman. Honorary pallbearer will be Master Steven Penman. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so wish, donations may be made in Louellas memory to the Salvation Army. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the love and care given to their mother and grandmother by Raquel De Castro over the last several months at home.
