RENZO STANGHERLIN It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, brother and uncle, Renzo Stangherlin, on April 30, 2000. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his devoted wife Germana; his beloved daughters, Elena, Anna and Cristina; his mother-in-law (Suocera) Elvira Gentile; his brothers, Giuseppe (Luciana) and Giovanni (of Italy) sister Elda (Guerino) of Italy; brothers-in-law, Pietro (Marlene), Cesare (Leslie) and Mario; sisters-in-law, Lorenza (Bob) and Laura; nieces and nephews, Marco, Daniela, Alexia, Lucy, Louis, Chris, Roberta and numerous nieces and nephews living outside Winnipeg and countless dear friends. Renzo was predeceased by his father Augusto; mother Maria and sisters, Ada and Lina. Renzo was born on February 7, 1941 and was raised in RossanoVeneto, Italy. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1961 and lived with his sister Ada until his marriage to Germana Gentile on May 20, 1967. Together they took great pride and pleasure in raising their three beautiful daughters. In 1968 Renzo and his friend Kurt Bauer started Bauer and Stangherlin Masonry. They worked together until 1981 when Renzo formed his own company, Stangherlin Construction Ltd., in which he worked with his brother Joe (Pino). Renzo was well respected in the construction industry as a man of honesty and integrity. Gentle and steadfast in character, Renzo exemplified the spirit of generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to others. Renzo appreciated the outdoors in all four seasons. He enjoyed weekends at the cottage with his family, playing squash, tennis and golf and achieving his " hole-in-one". He belonged to the Winnipeg Canoe Club, the Fogolare Association of Winnipeg and Amici del Enotria. Renzo enjoyed celebrating life with family and friends. Renzos family meant everything to him. He was a loyal and loving husband to Germana and the best father in the world to his daughters. His spirit will live forever in their hearts. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, reception to follow at Holy Rosary Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be Vincenzo Auriti, Fred Bauer, Gildo Di Biaggio, Pietro Gentile, Douglas Render, Marco Stangherlin, Luigi Strapazzon and Luigi Zilli.
