Edwin was born on August 10, 1928 and passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 1, 2000 in the company of his loving and caring wife Anita and family. In addition to many numerous relatives and friends he will always be remembered by his children, Joy (Rock) Beatty, Jacquie (Don) Johnson, Janice (Vincent) Mikuska, Michael (Jennie) Sorobey and Linda (Dennis) Alvestad. His grandchildren, Jessica, Branden, Rebecca (Beatty) Cameron, Leesa, Michelle, Kellsey Dawn (Johnson) Alaina, Stefan (Mikuska) Kathleen, Owen (Sorobey) and Joel, Leah (Alvestad). Ed will always be remembered for the mark he put on the lives of his family not only as a husband, father and grandfather, but as a card player, gardener, carpenter and neighbour. In his youth "Zoggs" as he was known by his friends excelled at football and set the pace at track and field. As his life progressed, he helped raise five loving children who would come to cherish fond memories of camping holidays and road trips. Ed and wife Anita, whether in person or in spirit, always managed to shorten the distances between their children as they began families of their own. Within years, the family would extend to include 13 grandchildren whom he supported actively with his trademark sense of humour. It goes without saying that the presence of Ed in the lives of those he touched helped make every day a little more "BEAUTIFUL"!!! Celebration of Eds life will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, corner of St. Marys Road and Lennox Avenue in St. Vital. Fr. Gerry Ward officiating. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Oncology Department of St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
