ALETHA AVALEAN FOX Aletha Avalean Fox (nee Clisby) passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2000 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC at the age of 89 years. Born in Ninette, MB, on August 1, 1910, she grew up in Southern Manitoba and worked in the laundry department at the Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Ninette. She met Clair Fox at her Grandmothers boarding house and they married in 1938 and settled in Winnipeg where they started their family. In 1945, they re-located to Carman, MB. Mom moved to Kamloops in 1987 to be closer to her immediate family. She will be lovingly remembered as Mom by Avalean (Roman) Loerke of Edmonton, AB, Myrna of Honolulu, HI, Valerie (Allan) Hoy of Kamloops, BC, Blake (Linda) of Ashcroft, BC, and Michael of Calgary, AB. Donald, Michael, Sonya, Jason, and Amanda will miss their Grandma; Melissa, Ryan, Megan, Rachel and Graeme their Great Grandma and Donna (Rex) Dayton her sister. Mom was predeceased by her husband Clair; by sisters, Sylva Jackson and Jessie Brissette and her brother Fernie Clisby. There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Doyles Funeral Home in Carman, Manitoba with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Doyles Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation. Doyles of Carman in care of arrangements.
