CHEU KEN MAK Peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2000, our father Cheu Ken Mak passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 59 years. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Chun Sheung, and his three children Lisa, Doris and Michael. Our Dad was a wonderful man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as tending to his vegetable garden, going on a fishing trip to enjoy the tranquility of the water or just reading a newspaper to find out what was going in the world. He was also a talented artist and musician and enjoyed painting and playing the violin. Our Dad was a dutiful and responsible person. He worked hard and would always put us, his family, ahead of himself. His immense sense of responsibility for our well being was true to the moment he passed away. He was the best Dad anyone could have asked for and the most loving husband there could ever be. He will live on in our hearts forever. Daddy, I miss you dearly and always will. There arent enough words in this world to express the gratitude and respect that I have for you. You have overwhelmed me with the your integrity and love for us and I owe you so much for what you have given us. You spent your whole life devoting your time and energy to your family, and now it is my turn to make you proud. I give you my promise that I will look after Mom and the family and that we will be all right so you dont have to worry anymore. These are the values that you have taught me in being a good person, and I thank you for that. I know that you will always be with us, looking out for us. Dad, I will always love you! Love, Lisa. Dad, I miss you lots, but I know you will always be around. You are the BEST Dad in the whole world. I will always work hard and be a good person these are the wonderful gifts that you have left me. I thank you. Thanks for teaching me how to play the stock market and how to plant tomatoes! I love you and will always miss you. Love always, Doris. Cheu Mak, you are the greatest father in the world. Dad, you are so strong, a true fighter! I now know the true meaning of "fighting to the bitter end." You taught me well, I saw it with my own eyes. Everything you ever did was for us, I am grateful and indebted to you forever. DAD I LOVE YOU! P.S. I wont let you down. Love your son, Michael. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the medical team and group of caregivers at GD4 at the Health Sciences Centre who treated our Dad with the utmost dignity, care and consideration. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at 5U2 and 5U6 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care and support. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 6, 2000 at Bardal Funeral Chapel (774-7474). Flowers are gratefully declined, however, donations may be made in Dads memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
