DONALD ADAM GRAVES With courage and dignity Donald Graves passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital. He was born June 1, 1921 in Regina, Sask. He was predeceased by his parents, Irene in 1997 and Arnold in 1973; his wife Goldie; a brother George; two sons-in-law, Rudy and Henry and a grandson Ward. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family, his wife Marlene Smyk and her children, Rick, Kevin and Colleen Smyk (Lionel) and grandchildren, Rochelle and Leigh-Ann Bardarson, Lucas Smyk, Shannon and Jennifer Smyk; his sister Mabel Knight (Lorne) of Lacadena, Sask., and their family. Don is also survived by son Russell and daughter Verna Zimmer of Russell, Man.; step-children, Otto (Joyce) Williams, Chester (Helen) Williams and Gwen Fedruh and grandchildren. He is also remembered by Marlenes mother Shirley Geddie; brothers, Dell and Albert Geddie; sisters Heather (Charlie) Garton and Lorraine Stack and their families. He was a gentle, kind-hearted man who accepted life as it came. He especially enjoyed his pets, Peaches, Forest and Digger. They became his source of comfort during his illness. We will always remember the generosity of the love he shared with us all. Donald spent two years in the Canadian Air Force, stationed in Alaska. He was employed at Arctic Ice for 45 years, a company he was proud to be working for. Don was very dedicated to his job. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Home Care Workers, especially nurses Pam, Niomi, and Caroline for their love and care during Dons illness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, with Rev. Michael Boulger officiating. Donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba (Lou Gehrig), 2109 Portage Avenue, R3J 0L3. Rest in Peace Don. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331
