CANDIS JOAN MOIZER Tragically, in the early morning hours of May 2, 2000, Candis Moizer aged 39, passed away at her residence near Niverville, MB. Candis will be lovingly remembered by Earl Wiebe her companion of eight years, her daughter Cheylynn, her parents Agnes and Bryant Hodge of Winnipeg, her sister Lori of Ottawa, Ontario, and brothers Lorne of Winnipeg, Garth (Leana) of Winnipeg and Norman (Robyn) of Thompson, MB; also nieces and nephews Cory, Shawna-Lee, Kelsey, Justin and Kerry-Ann. Candis was born on November 1, 1960 in Beausejour, MB. and was raised in the town of Lac Du Bonnet. It was here that she attended school and formed many friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime. She left school to study cosmetology in Winnipeg and graduated from Marvel Beauty School in 1976. She continued to practice these skills on a casual basis out of her home until the time of her passing. In the fall of 1996 Candis and Earl acquired a small acreage near Niverville. Though she lavished time and attention on her vegetable and flower gardens, they were secondary in importance to her family, immediate and extended. She spent endless hours attending to the needs and interests of others, frequently sacrificing her own in the process. She was unassuming, kind and compassionate and cared deeply for others. The following verse captures the sentiment of those who knew and loved Candis: You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small With a loving heart and a willing hand For us you did them all Thanks for the years you gave us And for the times we shared We only wish when you left us You knew how much we cared Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be conducted at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, Wpg., at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 6. In lieu of flowers donations in Candis memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Wpg., MB R3E 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • So sorry to hear of the loss of Candy. I had not kept in touch very well but we did touch base briefly in 1999 I think. I was shocked to see the story in the news a few weeks ago and didn't realize it was the Candy I knew until I researched today. So sad for her family and I want to send condolences even though I know they are so very late! I was a bridesmaid in Candy's first wedding and met all of her family then. So very sad and senseless. - Posted by: Brenda Senek Drager (Old friend, class mate at Marvel Hairdressing School) on: Jun 15, 2015
