JEAN TEKLA ROKYTA (Sachse) Mother passed away peacefully, in dignity and in grace at the Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday, May 3, 2000. She was born in Radziochowie, Poland, (Radekhiv, Ukraine) on December 5, 1913, she emigrated to Canada on her own at the age of 14 on September 4, 1927. She grew up to be a strong, proud and fiercely independent woman. She carried that strength with her in her final days with us and has now travelled on to a higher place to share her strength with Caroline, Colleen and Jeff, as well as all her family and friends who have passed on before her. She is survived and sadly missed by her sister Stephanie in the Ukraine; her four children; Richard Sachse (Cornea) and his children Trevor, Monica and Samantha; Erna Firman (Richard) and her children Troy, Danny and Richard; Armin Sachse (Kathryn) and his children Brigitte, Christine and their mother Joan; Kurt Sachse (Shane) and his children Karen, Kristyne and their mother Rose-Marie; and Kurt Sachse Senior. In total 14 grand children and 15 great-grandchildren will carry her spirit into future generations. The family wishes to thank the dedicated care givers at the Victoria General for their kindness and consideration for mothers last days on earth and for their understanding of the needs of the family and friends during this life event that deeply touched the emotions of all of us. The service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 AM at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Mom may be sent to the Victoria Hospital Foundation.
