Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MacKENZIE "MAC" READY John MacKenzie "Mac" Ready was born Thursday, May 8, 1924 at Reston, Man. Mac lived in various communities including Cabot, Elie, Beausejour, Glenboro, Boissevain, Winnipeg, Thompson, Killarney and The Pas. He married Catherine Elizabeth Campbell Thursday, April 7, 1960 at Winnipeg, Man. Mac served in the Navy until 1945, at which time he started his employment with the Manitoba Power Commission, later Manitoba Hydro. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping and tree planting. Mac enjoyed most outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and hunting. He was known for "Ready-made Novelties" ie "hookers" and "jewelry". Mac was active in many community services throughout his life. He loved "the North" having moved to The Pas three times over the past 30 years. Mac passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at St. Anthonys Hospital, The Pas at the age of 75 years. Mac is survived by his wife Catherine (Cass) daughters, Barb (Gerry) and Bijou; grandchildren, Scott, Erin, Amy and Matthew; great-grandsons, Michael and Seth; sisters, Jean Tapp, Virden and Louise Skallerup, Vernon, B.C. and brother Ken Ready, Sicamous, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents Bijou and Welland Ready; sister Roberta MacDonald, Montreal and brother Doug Ready, Canton, Ohio. In accordance with Macs wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. He also requested that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the The Pas and Area Humane Society, Box 4005, The Pas, Man., R9A 1S5.
