Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD JOHN STUBBS Edward John Stubbs, 76, of Duluth, Minnesota, died Monday, May 1, 2000. Ed was born January 22, 1924 in Winnipeg to Wesley and Bridget (Griffin) Stubbs. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Newfoundland during the Second World War. He was a faithful member of St. Johns Ambulance and St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church until his move to the United States in 1962. Ed was a member of the Graphic Communication International Union all his life. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; sons, John, Allan and Michael of Minnesota and Timothy (Angie) of Gurnee, Illinois; daughters, Sr. Mary Louise (Daughters of Charity) of St. Louis, Missouri; Patricia Gail (Kurt) Schmoeger, of Laurel, Maryland and Valerie of Rankin Inlet, Nunavat. He is also survived by a sister, Catherine Elliston, of Marysville, Washington; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Doreen Bergson, of Edmonton and his grandchildren, Tanya and Crystal Schmoeger and Wesley and Sarah Stubbs. A wake was held in Duluth on May 3. It was followed by a funeral service on May 4. Ed fondly remembered Winnipeg and his friends and relatives, visiting them and the city often during his stay in the United States. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, MN.
