ESTHER BELLA FONTAINE It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt Esther B. Fontaine on May 4, 2000. Our loss is heavens gain. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Robert (Wanda) and Roger (Barbara) her daughters, Mabel and Julianna (George). Also surviving are her brothers, Lawrence (Lillian), Joseph; sisters, Angela and Genevieve, 28 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and countless dear friends. Esther was predeceased by her parents, Therese and Augustine Morrisseau; husband Alphonse A. Fontaine; son Charles R. Fontaine; sister Freda and brothers, Jean Baptiste and Alexandre. Esther was born March 10, 1920 in Pine Falls, Man. She resided in Sagkeeng for her entire life. She was a loving wife and mother. Mom had a generous heart, great sense of humour and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her home was always open to relatives and friends. At various times throughout she fostered many children. Mom excelled in sewing and cooking. Often being teased for making a meal from scratch. She was also an avid sports fan and loved watching her Montreal Canadiens play. Her wisdom and knowledge of past and present events always inspired and entertained family and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and compassion given by her doctor and the staff of the Pine Falls Health Complex. A heartfelt thank you to all who came to visit mom at the hospital. Wake services will be held at her home on the North Shore, Sagkeeng First Nation House #452. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Tuesday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Fort Alexander, Man. with Fr. F. Paradis officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be George M. Courchene, Norman Guimond, Lloyd Bunn, Norbert Gerard, Eugene Fontaine and Robert Fontaine. Pallbearers will be Larry Morrisseau, Charles Courchene, Claude Fontaine, Terence Harry, B.J. Harry and Christian Edwards. "Our mother of many smiles, laughter, insight and love has gone ahead to see our God above. She left us all In tears but intended us to be strong. Memories of old times Our hearts sing a song We will always miss you but never forget. How you showed us the way I thank God that we met."
