MARION MARGARET HILL On May 6, 2000, our beloved mother and grandmother, Marion Hill, passed away at Central Park Lodge. She was 83 years of age. Mom was born on December 14, 1916 in Anola, MB. She and Dad married on October 24, 1936, and raised their family together in Winnipeg. Mom was predeceased by her husband Nels on September 12, 1994 and is survived by her daughters, Myrna (John) Benoit of Gimli, Donna (Doug) McPhail of Parksville, BC, Ruth (Elgin) Zelinski and son Jim (Barbara) all of Winnipeg. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; her sister Phylis and brothers, Bill and Jim Orr of BC. Mom was predeceased by her grandson Andy Hill and six brothers and sisters. Mom had no formal musical training but could play the violin and banjo. She and her father, brothers and sisters played at dances in halls in the Anola area when they were young. Mom was a kind and gentle soul who always showed compassion for her family and did her best to assure you everything would turn out all right. Although we will miss her dearly we are grateful her days of pain and suffering are past. The family would like to thank Dr. Visch and staff at Concordia Hospital for all their care and concern; Caroline Bleisk, Carmelita and Julie of home care; Jan and Lorraine for their kindness shown to Mom. Special thanks to Louise for her friendship to Mom at St. Michaels Villa. In lieu of flowers please make contribution to a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Service to terminate at the chapel. Mom will be laid to rest, on Tuesday with her beloved Nels in Millbrook Cemetery. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
