PATRICK (PADDY) J. TWOMEY Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, May 5, 2000 in the St. Boniface General Hospital, Paddy age 76 years of Winnipeg, MB. Paddy was born in Camrose, Alberta on November 1, 1923. He moved to Winnipeg in 1928 and served in the Navy from 1942 - 1945. He joined T & T Seeds with his brother Jerry in 1945. Paddy married his beloved wife Peggy on August 17, 1946 and after 44 years of marriage, she predeceased him on July 28, 1990. He worked at T & T Seeds until his illness prevented him from continuing to do so. Paddy remained actively interested and involved in the business and he was very proud to have built the company up to be one of the longest established independent mail order seed companies on the Prairies. He believed that T & T Seeds was built on honesty and fairness. It was a great accomplishment for him to have the company carry on his traditions and to see it continue to grow. Both Paddy and Peggy welcomed all business associates into their home as friends. Remaining to forever cherish Paddys memory are his dear friend, Helen Poapst; his children, Ginny (Terry Johnston) Kevin, Sharon Enns (Ronn) Ken, Maureen Gent (Doug) Brian (Donna) Dennis (Jennifer) Erin Van Steen (Bart) 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Jerry and Paul; two sisters, Elizabeth Kelly and Shelagh Twomey. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. at Corydon Avenue with his long time friend, Rev. Fr. Joseph V. Driscoll, S.J., presiding. Crow and the incredible staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital on the Palliative Care Ward.
