Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE HEWITSON (nee KRAMBLE) On Sunday, May 7, 2000, with her family at her side, our beloved mother Christine, passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Christine was born in Winnipeg on July 15, 1908, the eldest of ten children, born to Barbara (Single) and Charles Kramble. At the age of 13, she and her family moved to her beloved Transcona, where she spent the rest of her life. On July 4, 1931 she married our father Harry. In 1938, they moved to 112 Victoria Ave., E., where she lived until she suffered a stroke on January 3, 2000. She and Dad enjoyed the cottage at Grand Beach, until his untimely death at age 62. The cottage remains a source of enjoyment to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom and her brother, Charlie Kramble, travelled together extensively throughout Canada, the States and Europe for many years. Mom was active in the Train Ladies Lodge for over 65 years. She was a political trooper on behalf of her son-in-law (Transcona M.L.A. 1977-88) and other N.D.P. candidates. Predeceased by her beloved husband Harry; her parents; her sons-in-law, Allan Law and Gerry Jourdain; sister Elsie; brothers, Willy, Harold and Johnny and sisters-in law, Sylvia and Jean. She is survived by her four daughters and their children, Lorraine Jourdain, Chris (Colin) Fifi, Arthur (Iris), Eileen Law, Harry (Donna), Kim (Eric), Irwin, Kelly (Robin) Hahn, Wilma (Wilson) Parasiuk, Michael (Kathy), Laurel (Brian) Lawry, Virginia (Larry) Harrison, Paula (Chris), Erin (Neil) great-grandchildren, Chastine and Gavin Fifi, Paul, Racheal, Simone and Sean Jourdain, Jeneane and Robbie Law, Sean, Ryan and Erica Irwin, Cohen and Lily Parasiuk, Christian Jack Lawry; brothers, Charlie and Walter (Vera) sisters and best friends, Carol (Bill) Ring, Audrey (Robert) Pierce; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Olive, as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Pachal, the nurses on 2 East Concordia Hospital, the nieces and nephews who visited her regularly, especially "The Brat" Colleen, who spent many hours with her. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Honorary pallbearers will be her four grandsons and her sons-in-law. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg R3B 2H8, or to a charity of ones choice.
