JEAN KAZINA It is with great sadness we announce the loss of our mother, Jean Kazina, aged 77, who passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, with quiet dignity and courage after a lengthy illness. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband John in 1985; and by her parents, William and Mary Kully. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Allen (Marilyn) Kazina, Fred (Denise) Kazina, and Margaret (Glen) Corden; and grandchildren, Colin, Robynne, Chad, Stacey, Scott, and Jeffrey. She also leaves her brother Michael (Jean) Kully in Toronto, sister Frances Wuzinski in Vancouver, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Jean was born in Selkirk, and spent her childhood days on the family farm in Mayfield. After marrying John in 1947,they settled on a farm in Tyndall where they raised their three children. She was an active member in the community, especially at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church in Tyndall. She was always seen spectating at baseball games or curling bonspiels. She was an avid gardener, and took great pride in her yard, especially her flowers and pets. She was actively involved in the Seniors organizations in Garson and Beausejour. She went on numerous bus trips, and rarely missed a whist game. Family was very important to her, and in her own quiet, unassuming manner, she was a great inspiration to her family. She took a keen interest in her grandchildrens activities. She enjoyed life and the people around her. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Prayers will be said on Thursday, May 11 (tonight) at 7:30 p.m.at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave.E., Beausejour. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Park Ave. E. Beausejour, with Fr. John Sholdak officiating and assisted by Fr. Walter Klimchuk. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Brian Chorney, Harvey Chorney, Conrad Mlodzinski, Ken Mlodzinski, Gary Komadowski, and Michael Kazina. Special thank-you to the staff at the Oncology Department and Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for care and emotional support during this difficult time. If so desired, donations can be made to the Brokenhead River Community Foundation Inc., Box 880, Beausejour, Man. R0E 0C0 or the Palliative Care Unit, St Boniface General Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, Man. R2H 9Z9. In days we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, Our hearts were nearly broken, You fought so hard to stay. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space Then He looked down upon the Earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew that you were in pain He knew that you could never get well Upon this Earth again. He saw the road was getting rough The hills were hard to climb So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, Peace be thine. Sobering Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, in care of arrangements.
